Relief and Disbelief on The Bold and the Beautiful

Was Hope and Finn’s cliffhanger kiss real? What’s the status on Katie and Carter?

We found out what that Friday cliffhanger kiss was all about (actually, it was more than a kiss; it was a full-on makeout session). Plus, Katie and Carter’s conversation unintentionally caused us major disbelief. It all went down in the Monday, June 10 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful.

RELIEF: Hope and Finn, It Was All a Daydream?

Well, that Killer Friday Cliffhanger Kiss was just as we hoped: a daydream. And it was solely Hope’s (Annika Noelle) subconscious realizing she may have feelings for her rival’s husband with the psychopath birth mom.

So there’s a measure of relief here. Finn (Tanner Novlan) never seemed like the guy to out-and-out cheat on Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Besides a couple of (major) slip-ups, he’s hopelessly devoted to his wife. He’s proved that over and over again. Well, except for Sheila and coming to Hope’s defense, that is.

The relief, however, may be temporary. Steffy’s acting super demanding and outwardly territorial, and Finn does want a relationship with Sheila. So, who knows, that daydream of Hope’s may end up being some sort of wish fulfillment. Right now, it seems completely one-sided, but will it always?

Also, one beef with the Hope and Finn conversation. The two talked about how Hope wanted someone good to her and devoted to their family. Yes, Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson — who should be back on air soon) past is super problematic and a major red flag. But you can’t criticize him for his devotion and commitment. He has that in spades for Hope.

So will Hope continue to pine for Finn, find someone new, or gravitate back to Thomas when he returns from Paris?

DISBELIEF: This is How We Find Out About Katie and Carter?

What did Katie say in the middle of her venting about Bill, Poppy, and Luna (Lisa Yamada)? “You were my last relationship?” Huh? “Were?” What just happened here?

Apparently, Katie (Heather Tom) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) are over. In this episode, they definitely gave off a friends/co-workers vibe. Last week’s episodes didn’t feature one peep about Katie and Carter, as Katie kept worrying about Bill (Don Diamont) and Poppy (Romy Park). At first, we thought the show would keep us wondering about the erasure of an entire relationship.

Instead, they dropped a tiny reference in the middle of a conversation. Katie and Carter briefly acknowledged their connection was in the past. It’s so disappointing that almost the entire relationship between the two happened off-screen. How long have they been over? Both Heather Tom and Lawrence Saint-Victor deserve better. At the same time, it’s not surprising the show chose to walk back their romance. They were never invested in it.

So, does this mean that the Dollar Bill/Poppy dynamic is about to become a triangle? Will Katie choose to fight for her ex-husband? She’s not easy to read as to whether she still wants something with her Bill. As for Carter, please find something substantive to do with him. He needs to find love and a family or be part of an exciting story where he‘s driving the action.
